The winemaker, and consultant for a number of wine estates in the region, was fined €60,000 (of which €20,000 was suspended) by the Bordeaux District Court for using his position on a number of associations to benefit certain wine estates. Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, the owner of Saint-Emilion’s prestigious Château Angélus, has been found guilty of "unlawful bias" in his role in the 2012 Saint-Emilion classification, a Bordeaux judge ruled yesterday.
